With the first two years of gi joe gone, 1984 saw the toy line getting better and better with both figures and vehicles. On the joe side Blowtorch, Clutch, Cutter, Deep Six, Duke, Mutt, Recondo, Rip Cord, Roadblock, Spirit and Thunder. Which are all awesome figures with some very nice accessories, Notably Mutt & Junkyard, Spirit & Freedom. Rip Cord with parachute pack, helmet, oxygen mask and rifle and Blowtorch with yellow helmet, oxygen mask and backpack and green flamethrower. Cutter is also a notable figure as he came with what I consider to be the one of the best gi joe vehicles ever: The killer whale hovercraft.
Cobra figures for this year were just as good. Cobra commander with hood, Scrap Iron, Copperhead, Wild Weasel, Cobra stinger Driver, plus four which are very notable and much loved starting with Baroness and Firefly two excellent figures. Then there Zartan leader of the Dreadnoks a master of disguise this fist incarnation being the best as he come with a face mask so he can be properly disguise no other Zartan figure to date has this feature.
